Shiva Experience

Shiva Experience fb eng.png

Mahāśivarātri, literally "the great night of Shiva", is an annual festival in the Hindu calendar that marks a remembrance of overcoming darkness and ignorance in life and the world. It is celebrated annually on the night of the new moon, the dark moon, at the end of winter. Unlike the majority of Hindu celebrations, which take place during the day, Mahāśivarātri is celebrated during the night. It's a somewhat solemn festival, with much introspection and meditation.

I am holding this space to sing three mantras especially for Shiva, as a meditative practice.

  • We will sing the praṇava mantra, AUM, with an explanation of the meaning of this mantra in relation to Shiva.

  • We will meditate chanting a special soma mantra and of course, we will cover the mantra's meaning and power.

  • We will chant the mahāmṛtyuñjaya mantra 108 times with a review of the meaning and pronunciation.

  • We might also chant the śivapañcākṣara mantra, Om Namaḥ Śivāya.

Let's make the most of the energy of this night to chant and meditate together! It will be a powerful and liberating night.

Chanting in community is a powerful act and can help us to regulate our emotions, our mood, and our mind —in addition to having benefits for our health. Singing together, we enter in communion and the vibration of your voice is made stronger by joining with the voices of the group.

This event is open to everyone (no previous experience needed!) and is made possible through your contribution, which you can make in cash or through Bizum.
